At the heart of nearly every American city there is a vibrant, diverse community known simply as "downtown." And Durham, North Carolina is no different. People from all walks of life come together here to carry out the daily business of their everyday lives. They work here mostly, but at the same time they are celebrating the differences which make us unique and the commonalties that make us a community. These are portraits of the people who bring America to life. These are the faces of downtown Durham.
